Eric Blair writing as George Orwell wrote two books which were to become famous much later. They were Animal Farm and 1984,They were written between WW1 and WW2 when Europe was in a mess and America not much better after the Wall Street crash.
Animal Farm was critical of the new Communist Movement, which had come out of the 1917 revolution against the Czars by the ordinary people. After the Right Wing Nazis had gone people were looking for a new genre to follow and Orwell could see what was coming.
His other book 1984 was critical of the idea of a one World Government which had been tried as the League of Nations and failed. The plan was still on the drawing board and was later to become the United Nations. Orwell, again, somewhat prophetically, saw what was going to happen there too.
His books were against either happening but they seem to have been taken as a blueprint for the way forward of both Communism and The New One World Government ideals
